Marathon

The Plitvice Marathon is a road athletic race with a total length of 42,195m. The race consists of one lap and has an official AIMS certificate. Start and finish are in the same place. Checkpoints are located at the 12th and 30th kilometers.

The start of the race is at 9:00 am, on Sunday 2.6.2024 in Mukinje, in front of SRC Mukinje - Sports Hall.

All healthy competitors can perform and everyone runs at their own risk. By registering for the race, the competitor waives the possibility of transferring responsibility to the race organizer and confirms his health and readiness to finish the race. The organizer provided medical care in accordance with the rules of road athletics races.

Everyone who has reached the age of 18 on the day of the race is allowed to take part in the marathon.

By registering for the race, the competitor agrees that the organizer may use photos taken during, immediately before and after the race for their internal needs and the needs of event promotion. The competitor agrees that the organizer may use his personal data for internal communication and for promotional purposes of the organizer.

Refreshments are provided at the start, during the race in accordance with the IAAF and HAS regulations related to road running and in the finish area. Additional refreshments are provided in the target area. Timing is electronic with the use of chips and all results will be published immediately after the race on the official website of the organizer. All competitors will have a net (chip start) and gross time (the time from the starter giving the signal to start the race to the entry of the competitor in the finish). The official ranking is the gross time of the competitor in accordance with the rules of the IAAF (World Athletics Federation).

The start number is placed exclusively on the chest and must be visible throughout the race. Competitors must have a chip in addition to the start number during the race, without which their placement will not be recorded. Failure to follow the rules will result in disqualification of the competitor.

The time limit of the race is 6:00h (8: 32 / km). The time limit control will be on the last 30 km relay change.

Unofficial race results will be announced immediately after the race. The right to appeal lasts for three days after the announcement of the unofficial results. After the expiration of the right of appeal, the results become official.

Traffic was closed and a police escort (motorcycle) was provided in front of the first group of competitors.

Unless otherwise stated, the rules of the Croatian Athletics Federation in accordance with the rules of the IAAF apply.

 Family marathon 

The tradition of the Plitvice Marathon is a family gathering and a stay on the Plitvice Lakes. The desire of the organizers has always been to attract whole families to stay in the National Park and run together. That's how the family marathon came about. A race where one family member runs a 10km race, one competes in a half marathon and one in a marathon. Their times are added up and in that way the overall order is determined. Only family members of the first generation can apply for the family marathon. Family members register individually for each race and send the e-mail application for the family marathon to a.k.plitvice@gmail.com with the title: Family Marathon 2023.   

The starting package for the marathon race, in addition to the number with the chip and refreshments on the track itself, contains at least:
