Event - Public Race Registered Competitors Results

Dear walkers,

we are delighted to announce the third edition of the Zagreb Advent Run's humanitarian race for diabetes, which will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 with start and finish in front of The Westin Zagreb Hotel!

This year's edition of the race is devoted to raising awareness of the importance of physical activity throughout the year, especially for people with diabetes. Namely, in 2017, the number of deaths from diabetes in Croatia has increased for the worse 23 percent compared to the previous year. Therefore, part of the funds collected from the race event will be donated to the Croatian Association of Diabetic Associations as a support for programs and projects implemented by the Association.

In addition to the 5 and 10 kilometers course, leading through the heart of the city, the #ZAR2018 welcomes walkers to join the 5km track too. In cooperation with the Croatian Association of Nordic Walking we organize free open trainings on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the best preparation at ZAR 2018! Start for both races (5 km and 10 km) and for walkers (5 km) begins at 10:00 am

PROGRAM:

Pick-up start packages in The Westin Zagreb (Ul. Kršnjavog 1) on the ground floor next to the Crystal Hall:

  • Thursday 13.12. from 18 to 21.00 hrs (Tuškanac and Zrinjevac Halls)
  • Friday 14.12.2018. from 13.00 to 21.00 hrs (Tuškanac and Zrinjevac Halls)
  • Saturday 15.12.2018. from 10.00 to 21.00 hrs (Lobby Westin)
  • Sunday 16.12.2018. from 07.30 to 9.00 hrs (at the INFO glass hall: only for runners outside of Zagreb who were previously informed us per email)

You do not have to pick up the start number yourself - it can be picked up by someone else with your payment confirmation or photo / copy of your ID.

Children can pick up their start numbers  only with a single parent / guardian who has to sign a "Disclosure Statement".

  • 9.30 – 9.40 Warm-up (by Biotrening)
  • 9.40 Departure to start-line in front of the hotel according to the zones
  1. Red zone – runners running 5km 21 min. and faster, runners running 10km 41 min. and faster
  2. Blue zone – recreation runners
  3. Green Zone – Nordic Walking walkers
  4. Yellow zone – families with children and dogs
  • 10.00 – Race start
  • 10.40 Announcement of the winner 5 km (Crystal Hall with live radio broadcast ENTER)
  • 11.10 Announcement of the winner 10 km + Nordic Walking winners
  • 11.30 – 13.00 DJ LIVE (Crystal Hall)
  • 11.30 – 11.45 Stretching excercises (by Biotrening – Crystal Hall)
  • 11.45 – 12.15 Announcement of the fastest winners in the category “Youngest and Oldest #ZAR participant” for all races + prize quiz (The Westin Crystal Hall Hotel)

  

COURSE AND START ZONES

The length of the course is 5km. The start and the finish is in front of the Westin Hotel.

Please respect the colors of the zone!

 

TRAFFIC: Tram and road traffic will be suspended on the route between 09:50 am - 11:30 am.

Kršnjavoga Street will be closed for traffic from 08.00 am.

CHANGING ROOMS / WC: located on the ground floor of The Westin Hotel *****. The cloak rooms are closing at 9.25 am so you can have enough time for warm-up and going to the start line.

Please do not leave valuable items in the changing room.

PARKING: on the streets near The Westin Hotel and on the parking near the Mining Faculty, Pierotti street 6.

Since international payments are a subject to bank commissions, the fee will be higher in those cases.
