Marathon

The Plitvice Marathon is a road athletic race with a total length of 42,195m. The race consists of one lap and has an official AIMS certificate. Start and finish are in the same place. Checkpoints are located at the 12th and 30th kilometers.

The start of the race is at 9:00 am, on Sunday 05.06.2022 in Mukinje, in front of SRC Mukinje - Sports Hall.

All healthy competitors can perform and everyone runs at their own risk. By registering for the race, the competitor waives the possibility of transferring responsibility to the race organizer and confirms his health and readiness to finish the race. The organizer provided medical care in accordance with the rules of road athletics races.

Everyone who has reached the age of 18 on the day of the race is allowed to take part in the marathon.

By registering for the race, the competitor agrees that the organizer may use photos taken during, immediately before and after the race for their internal needs and the needs of event promotion. The competitor agrees that the organizer may use his personal data for internal communication and for promotional purposes of the organizer.

Refreshments are provided at the start, during the race in accordance with the IAAF and HAS regulations related to road running and in the finish area. Additional refreshments are provided in the target area. Timing is electronic with the use of chips and all results will be published immediately after the race on the official website of the organizer. All competitors will have a net (chip start) and gross time (the time from the starter giving the signal to start the race to the entry of the competitor in the finish). The official ranking is the gross time of the competitor in accordance with the rules of the IAAF (World Athletics Federation).

The start number is placed exclusively on the chest and must be visible throughout the race. Competitors must have a chip in addition to the start number during the race, without which their placement will not be recorded. Failure to follow the rules will result in disqualification of the competitor.

The time limit of the race is 6:00h (8: 32 / km). The time limit control will be on the last 30 km relay change.

Unofficial race results will be announced immediately after the race. The right to appeal lasts for three days after the announcement of the unofficial results. After the expiration of the right of appeal, the results become official.

Traffic was closed and a police escort (motorcycle) was provided in front of the first group of competitors.

Unless otherwise stated, the rules of the Croatian Athletics Federation in accordance with the rules of the IAAF apply.

 Family marathon 

The tradition of the Plitvice Marathon is a family gathering and a stay on the Plitvice Lakes. The desire of the organizers has always been to attract whole families to stay in the National Park and run together. That's how the family marathon came about. A race where one family member runs a 10km race, one competes in a half marathon and one in a marathon. Their times are added up and in that way the overall order is determined. Only family members of the first generation can apply for the family marathon. Family members register individually for each race and send the e-mail application for the family marathon to a.k.plitvice@gmail.com with the title: Family Marathon 2022.   

The starting package for the marathon race, in addition to the number with the chip and refreshments on the track itself, contains at least:     

• Dry fit t-shirt with race logo
• Isotonic drink or water
• Magnesium in a bag
• Organization costs
• Medical assistance at the start and finish
• Irreversible start number
• Ticket for Plitvice Lakes National Park
• Sponsor gifts
• Finisher's medal

Regulations

RULES OF 36TH PLITVICE MARATHON
1. All competitors are required to adhere to all epidemiological rules and guidelines
prescribed by Croatian government, local government and the organizer that will be valid
on race day
2. All competitors are required to wear protective face mask when picking up their race
numbers
3. In case of race cancellation due to severe weather rescheduling of the race start is
possible
4. In case of race cancellation due to COVID-19 pandemic the organizer is not obliged to
refund the admission fee
5. In case of race cancellation competitors can chose between transfer of the admission
fee to some other race organized by Athletic club Plitvice or they can pick up their starter
pack with previous arrangement with the organizer
6. Starter pack can be sent via mail but in that case the competitors will pay for the
shipping
7. On marathon, half-marathon and 10k race all Croatian Athletic Federation and
international athletic rules apply

8. Race number must be worn and visible on chest of the competitors, con-compliance
with this rule can result in disqualification
9. By paying the registration fee all competitors give consent to be photographed during,
before and after the race. The same photographs can be published and official website,
social and all other media
10. Competitors that have already passed through the race line are not allowed to walk
along the start/end zone with their chip timer still attached (race number)
11. In case of withdrawal from the race competitors are obliged to inform the race
organizer. Non-compliance to this rule can result in bans on future races.
12. All race result appeals are to be sent to organizer e-mail within the set time for the
appeals (before the award ceremony), otherwise eventual appeals will not be reviewed
and the race results will become official
13. In case that the marathon race is also a Croatian Marathon Championship elite
runners can be separated from others and entrance to the start zone will be forbidden
without the permission of the organizer unless it’s not otherwise decided

Plitvice Half Marathon 

The Plitvice Half Marathon is a road athletic race with a total length of 21.0975 m. The start and finish are in the same place. 

The race starts at 9:00, on Sunday, June 5, 2022. in Mukinje, in front of SRC Mukinje - Sports Hall. 

Everyone who is at least 18 years old on the day of the race is allowed to take part in the race. Persons under the age of 18 may perform with the approval of their parents and a sports medicine doctor. The time limit is 3:00 hours. 

All other rules and responsibilities apply as for a marathon race.   

From 2021, the Plitvice Half Marathon is named after Valentina Valjak - following the example of the prematurely deceased winner of the Plitvice Half Marathon in 2020.

Description

10km race

The 10 km race is a road athletic race with a total length of 10,000 m. The race consists of one 10 km long lap. Start and finish are in the same place. The checkpoint is located at the farthest point between 5 kilometers, which is also a turning point.

The start of the race is at 16:00, on Saturday, 04.06.2022. in Mukinje willage, in front of SRC Mukinje - Sports Hall.

Everyone who is at least 15 years old on the day of the race is allowed to take part in the race. Persons under the age of 15 are allowed to perform with the approval of their parents and a sports medicine doctor.

The time limit is 120 minutes (12: 00 / km).

All other rules and responsibilities apply as for the half marathon and marathon race.

Family marathon
