MARATHON

Plitvice marathon is a road race with the total length of 42.195 m. The race consists of one lap and has an offical AIMS certificate. Start and finish of the race are at the same place. Control points are on the 12^th and the 30^th kilometer.

Start of the race is at 8.30am, 4^th of July 2021 in the town of Mukinje, in front of the Sports Recreational Hall Mukinje.

All healthy competitors can participate in the race and every competitor is running at their own risk. Through race registration competitors waive the possibility that the race organizer will assume liability and confirm they are healthy and capable to finish the race. Organizer has secured medical care in accordance with the rules of road racing. 

Marathon can be run by all competitors that are 18 years or older at the day of the race.

Through race registration every competitor gives consent to be photographed before, during and after the race and the organizer can use those photos for its own needs and the promotion of the event. All competitors also give consent to the organizer to use their personal data for internal communication and promotion of the event.

Refreshments will be provided at the start, during the race and at the finish line in accordance with IAAF and Croatian Athletic Federation road racing guidelines. In the finish line area additional refreshments will be available as well.

Race times are measured through electronic chip-timing and all race results will be published on the official race website immediately after the finish of the race. All competitors will have net finishing time (chip time) and gross time (time from the race start signal to the finish line). For official race order in accordance with the IAAF rules gross time is used.

Race number is placed exclusively on chest area and must be visible during the whole race – half-marathon and marathon race numbers are different colors. Competitors must have their chip-timer on them at all times during the race and without it their race time will not be valid. Non-compliance with these rules can result in disqualification.

Time limit for the race is 6:00 hours (8:32 min/km). Time limit control will be on the last relay change at the 30^th kilometer.

Non-official race results will be published immediately after the race. Time limit for race results appeal is three days after the publication of the race results. After the expiration of the time limit the results become official.

All traffic is closed during the race and the first group of runners will have police escort.

Unless otherwise stated, all rules of Croatian Athletic Federation aligned with IAAF rules are applied.

Regulations

RULES OF 36TH PLITVICE MARATHON
1. All competitors are required to adhere to all epidemiological rules and guidelines
prescribed by Croatian government, local government and the organizer that will be valid
on race day
2. All competitors are required to wear protective face mask when picking up their race
numbers
3. In case of race cancellation due to severe weather rescheduling of the race start is
possible
4. In case of race cancellation due to COVID-19 pandemic the organizer is not obliged to
refund the admission fee
5. In case of race cancellation competitors can chose between transfer of the admission
fee to some other race organized by Athletic club Plitvice or they can pick up their starter
pack with previous arrangement with the organizer
6. Starter pack can be sent via mail but in that case the competitors will pay for the
shipping
7. On marathon, half-marathon and 10k race all Croatian Athletic Federation and
international athletic rules apply

8. Race number must be worn and visible on chest of the competitors, con-compliance
with this rule can result in disqualification
9. By paying the registration fee all competitors give consent to be photographed during,
before and after the race. The same photographs can be published and official website,
social and all other media
10. Competitors that have already passed through the race line are not allowed to walk
along the start/end zone with their chip timer still attached (race number)
11. In case of withdrawal from the race competitors are obliged to inform the race
organizer. Non-compliance to this rule can result in bans on future races.
12. All race result appeals are to be sent to organizer e-mail within the set time for the
appeals (before the award ceremony), otherwise eventual appeals will not be reviewed
and the race results will become official
13. In case that the marathon race is also a Croatian Marathon Championship elite
runners can be separated from others and entrance to the start zone will be forbidden
without the permission of the organizer unless it’s not otherwise decided

POLUMARATON

Plitvice half-marathon is a road race with the total length of 21.098 meters. The race consists of one lap and it is officially measured by Croatian Athletic Federation. Start and finish of the race are in the same place. Control point is on the 12^th kilometer of the race.

Start of the race is at 9.00am, 04^th of July 2021. in the town of Mukinje, in front of Sports Recreation Hall Mukinje.

Half-marathon runners start together with the marathon runners. The separation from the marathon race track is on 15^th of kilometers with race officials and organizer officials present. The area is clearly marked.

All healthy competitors can run this race and everyone is running at their own risk. Half-marathon can be run by all competitors that are 16 years or older at the day of the race.

Family Marathon

Family visits to the National Park Plitvice Lakes have always been the tradition of the Plitvice Marathon. It is the wish of the organizer to attract families to visit the National Park and run the race together. That’s how we came up with the idea of Family Marathon. It is a race where one member of the family runs a 5k race, one half-marathon and one marathon. Their times are added up which determines the overall race order. Only first cousins can apply for the family marathon.

Members of the family register individually for each race and after the race registration they send an e-mail with their registration for the family marathon on a.k.plitvice@gmail.com with the subject line: Family Marathon 2021

STARTER PACK

Starter pack for marathon and half-marathon along the race number with chip-timer, refreshments during the race and other road racing standards, also consists of:

• Sports shirt with the race logo
• Energy drink
• Finishers medal

10K race is a road race with the total length of 10 kilometers. The race consists of one lap with the total length of 10 kilometers. Start and finish of the race are at the same place. Control point is at the farthest 5k point which is also the turnstile.

Start of the race is at 8.30am, 4^th of July 2021 in the town of Mukinje, in front of the Sports Recreational Hall Mukinje.
